Second First Day of School

Second first day of school has arrived. Aliens get very excited for school - they get up way before the alarm goes off and are ready to go a looong time before the bus comes. Little bear was so excited this morning - he was a jumble of nerves and craziness - he fell down the stairs, smacked into the couch, smacked into my head (ouch!) all because excitement seems to make him not fully in control of his limbs. It was definitely an exciting morning...

The over-sized and very cool backpack gang. Brought to you by Great-Aunt-Susan gifts Inc.

We made them hold hands - just long enough to take a picture - though requiring them -to hold hands - brought on a spontaneous run through of Ring-Around-The-Rosie

And off he goes on the bus - now he's just in Kindergarten - and he insisted on riding the bus on his first day. I'm a little worried about him getting OFF the bus..he won't have his sister aliens with him and will he get off too soon? too late? I would really like to pick him up...maybe, I'll sneak over there and follow the bus home. I think its okay to stalk on the first day of school. Its been a crazy first week, back to school night was fun - meeting with the Kindergarten teacher was interesting. This is a lot of fun, but, much, much, much, much, much harder than I thought. Really, does it get any easier? I kind of wish I could be the one with a packed lunch and a driver to and from my daily destinations.

My booger boy looks so handsome and adorable in his layered look with the big old backpack and everything. I would have been a wreck all day long waiting for him to get home on the bus! None of them have ever gone solo on the first day in any way/shape/form. Mommy insists on embarrassing them all by escorting them on foot, or by van, the entire way and waiting at the door until they are safely inside. lol This is a first for all of us! I can't wait to see my kids! I think . . . Frog? I can't remember the name you use, is on to me! The flower girl might still be clueless. I flat out TOLD the duckie, but she's a safe one to tell. Anyways, can't wait to come! Sorry for making this so long! Give great big hugs to my little bear for me! And all of the others while you are at it!

Enough! Enough bragging about the bus, people! I don't want to see one more picture of the oh so tempting bus and children riding on it. I can't stand the jealousy. Tell me, are the kids away from you just a little bit longer that way?

I was immediately jealous of the bus even before I saw my sister's comment. If we had a bus my post today would be moot. Try having 2 pick-ups, 2 drop-offs, and 1 three hour napper. Stalking is perfectly acceptable. Use those skills, single girl!
